MIU Athletics Announces Rafael Muniz as the Head Coach of Women’s Soccer
Maharishi International University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Rafael Muniz de Araújo as the Head Coach of the MIU Women’s Soccer program.
Coach Muniz brings a unique combination of professional playing experience and extensive coaching background across the professional, collegiate, and youth levels. Originally from Brazil, he has spent many years developing student-athletes and building competitive soccer programs in the United States.
Muniz most recently worked at South Florida Bible College, where he continued his involvement in player development and coaching at the collegiate level. Prior to that, he served at Wiley University in Texas, where he played a key role in building the soccer program from the ground up. During his time at Wiley, Rafael helped guide both the men's and women's programs to conference championships and established himself as one of the most successful coaches in the program's history. He currently holds the record for most victories in the soccer program, highlighting his ability to build winning teams and long-term success.
With many years of experience in collegiate soccer, Muniz has developed a reputation for strong player development, competitive program building, and international recruiting connections, particularly in Brazil and across Latin America.
When asked about joining MIU Athletics, Rafael expressed excitement about the opportunity to lead and grow the program.
"The opportunity to build a strong soccer program from the ground up is something that motivates me greatly," said Coach Muniz.
